The development of investment funds in the world and their place in the economy

The scientific aim of the article is the comparison of dynamics of development of investment funds as an economic sector in Russia, USA, Germany, the UK and throughout the world; to know the level of development of investment funds in Russia in comparison with other countries; to determine where the investment funds in the modern economy, and the roles that they play. Similar work on the scope and depth of the investigated material at the moment in Russia. As part of the work on the basis of foreign and Russian sources was studied the dynamics of the assets of investment funds in Russia, USA, Germany, the UK and throughout the world, conclusions were drawn about the importance of significant investment funds for economic development; the relatively small size of assets of Russian investment funds in comparison with the assets of the investment funds in a number of other countries, indicating a weak development of the market of investment funds in Russia. At the same time, the work concludes that investments in Russia are growing faster than in countries such as USA, UK, Germany. However, this development is explained by the "low base effect" and the lack of development of the market of investment funds in Russia.
