The article deals with the contemporary issues and the new trends in the development of higher engineering education in the Tyumen region. The authors consider the result of the survey of experts - representatives of regional organizations acting as employers for future engineers. One of the most important conclusions is that regional companies and organizations should have a priority right to the formation of the social order for the engineering personnel.
