The development of ethno-cultural tourism in the Sakhalin region as a new opportunity for the development of the tourism industry in the region

In this article, the author considers the current state of the tourism industry in the Sakhalin region and offers some new ways of tourism development in the region. The author has selected the ethnocultural tourism as a promising new form of tourism, which can become the driver of industry development in the region. The article examines the nature of ethnocultural tourism and givеs the description of ethnocultural resources of the region. In the final part of the the article the author proposes the concrete steps for the development of ethnocultural tourism in the Sakhalin region.
