The proposed review focuses on the multifaceted field of communication skills in the socio-humanities, exploring the evolutionary trajectory from traditional transactional models to contemporary dialogue and interactive structures. Central to the discussion is an elucidation of the key role that effective communication plays in mediating complex social interactions, particularly within diverse family structures. Drawing on a variety of sources, the article carefully analyses the theoretical foundations and practical applications, highlighting the nuanced challenges – cultural, socio-economic, linguistic and psychological - faced by professionals in the field. Importantly, the review refers to the transformative impact of digital technologies on pedagogical approaches to teaching communication skills. These technologies not only enhance traditional educational methodologies, but also open up new paradigms of engagement and interactivity. Global educational initiatives are also examined in terms of their role in shaping transnational, culturally inclusive educational environments that foster the development of communicative competences in cross-border settings. Prospects for future development are discussed with optimism about the integration of advanced technological tools and global educational strategies. The aim of this study is to provide a solid foundation for the continuous development of communicative competences in socio-humanistic contexts, advocating a holistic approach that embraces technological innovation and global collaboration to better prepare professionals for the complexities of global interpersonal dynamics. The findings emphasise the need for continuous adaptation and innovation in communication skills training to meet the changing needs of a globally interconnected society.
