The development of medical and health tourism in Udmurtia in the 1970s - early 1980s

The article deals with the participation of trade unions in the implementation of the state policy on the development of medical tourism in Udmurtia. In the 1960s the Central council of the trade union managed and supervised the medical and health tourism and resorts to provide well-organized and effective tourism for workers. The leading organization in Udmurtia for restructuring and development of a network of spa facilities was the Udmurt regional council on resorts management (Udmurtsovetkurort). By analyzing historical data and periodicals, the author reveals some problems in the activity of Udmurtsovetkurort and determines the root causes of these problems.
