Development of local self-management in a context of political transformations of the post-Soviet period

Authors consider some political features of local self-management development, dependence of this development on rigid state influence. In article classification of local self-management is resulted, specificity of self-management structures in various European regions is marked, the comparative analysis of global experience of municipal systems construction is made.
