The development of directional drilling at the Neft Dashlary field

It is known that in the 1930s, for the first time in the world, a turbine and a turbine drilling method were proposed in Baku. In the 1940s, slant drilling was developed not only in the southern regions of the former Soviet Union, but also in the Ural-Volga region, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, the Kuibyshev region, Perm, etc. However, until the early 1950s, slant drilling technology developed slowly. With the more complex drilling requirements associated with increasing well depths and the need to drill several wells from one well cluster, geological complexity of deposits and an increase in planned drilling speeds, the slowdown in the development of slant drilling puts this method of drilling wells in conditions that are unfavorable in comparison with other methods.
