Development of singing in the context of liturgical singing in prerevolutionary Russia

In the article a crucial period in the history of Russian music is considered, which initiated the new development of the art of singing, the period of inclination to the Western traditions of polyphonic singing and attempts to return to the sources of ancient Russian singing. Special attention is paid to the prior role of singing upbringing in young singers representing next generation in the field of choral art.
