The article in question is devoted to one of the most actual problems- strengthening the competitiveness of the region by using marketing research in order to form the strategic development of the region. The article analyses market instruments. Nowadays the region may involve world resources for its development but in this case it will compete with not only Russian competitors but in many cases with abroad territories. To offer itself to the world it is crucial to define what the region possesses and what it can offer. i.e. to solve a number of problems concerning territorial marketing.
