The article presents the results of a study of the development of buckwheat plants of the Inzerskaya variety depending on the predecessor in the conditions of the Kulundinsky steppe of the Altai Territory. More precocious, for 1-2 days, the plants showed themselves according to the predecessor of the seed peas. The growing season for seeded peas was 81-83 days, for the predecessor, spring wheat was 82-84 days. The area of the leaf surface on average for two years was the largest for seeded peas - 36.25 thousand m / ha.
