The Russian pharmaceutical market and its individual segments have received a new vector of development during the pandemic, which is a consequence of increased demand for medicines and related pharmaceutical products. A separate area that also showed growth dynamics during this period was the dietary supplement market, which is due to the increased attention of the population to health issues during the pandemic and after it, since it is a proven fact that coronavirus infection has caused serious harm to health among the population. The study assesses the development of the dietary supplement market during the pandemic and after it based on an analysis of data for 2018-2022, identifying current trends and their causes. It has been established that the dietary supplement market in Russia in the post-pandemic period has strengthened its position in the structure of the country’s pharmaceutical market: in 2022, dietary supplements accounted for 4,1 % of total market sales and 7 % of the total number of packages sold. An assessment of the dynamics of the main indicators of the dietary supplement market over the past 5 years showed that in 2020 there was a slight decline against the backdrop of the outbreak of the pandemic, but 2021-2022 are characterized by dynamic growth, the rate of which exceeds the pre-pandemic period. As a result, in 2022, sales volume in the dietary supplement market amounted to 105 billion rubles, which is equal to 364 million packages. During the period 2020-2022, an increase in inflation for dietary supplements was noted: in 2020, prices increased by 8,7 %, and after a lull in 2021, in 2022 the inflation rate increased to 12,3 %.
