The spleen performs the functions of immune blood control. The spleen is located in the abdominal cavity, in the area of the left hypochondrium, at the level from IX to XI ribs. The weight of the spleen in an adult (20-40 years old) it is 192 g for a man and 153 g for a woman. the length of the spleen at this age is 10-14 cm, width 6-10 cm and thickness 3-4 cm.
