Development of rural territories of the Russian Federation in new economic realities: problems and prospects

The article examines the trends and problems of rural development in the regions of the Russian Federation. The analysis of the composition of the urban and rural population, the distribution of rural settlements by the number of inhabitants in the Russian Federation is given. The reasons for the outflow of population from rural areas are analyzed. In rural areas, depending on their characteristics, in order to create the necessary living conditions in them, it is important to develop those industries and enterprises that are characteristic of this natural and climatic area. The necessity of the revival and development of subsidiary industries and crafts in rural areas, which would contribute to the restoration of rural areas, the creation of additional jobs, is substantiated. Depending on the characteristics of rural areas and their remoteness from regional and district centers, it is possible to develop various types of tourism (ecotourism, ethnotourism, culinary tourism, geotourism, as well as rural, farming, green and ecological tourism).
