The Development of the Vocational Education System as a Factor of Successful Regional Socio-Economic Development (the Irkutsk Region Case)

The article carries out an analysis of the dynamics of the development of secondary vocational education as an important factor of socio-economic regional growth and considers the various correlations between STR and regional development scenarios. The author describes various components of the concept of the development of vocational education and training using the example of the Irkutsk region. The paper shows that the system of secondary vocational education can act as a driver of socio-economic transformation of the region, and a possible mechanism for solving problems related to dependence on the traditional raw materials scenario of the region's development.
