Development of secular education in Dagestan in the second half of the XIX century

The article deals with the problem of the formation of secular education in the Dagestan region after joining the Russian Empire. The author concludes that secular educational institutions established in the second half of the 19th century played an important role in the process of Dagestan's entry into the all-Russian cultural and civilizational space.
