This article is devoted to the analysis of the image of childhood, outlining the continuity of techniques, traditions and subjects of the XIXth century in English literature of the second half of the XXth century, as well as considering the peculiarities of narration in the novels by W. D. Golding «Lord of the Flies», S. Hill «I Am the King of the Castle» and stories by J. Oldridge «The True Story of Spit Macphee».
