Development of theoretical foundations of the formation of industrial enterprises’ ecosystems

In the conditions of prolonged global instability, the importance of the sustainable functioning of industrial enterprises is increasing. As a promising source of their development, it is proposed to consider the formation of ecosystems. The purpose of the article is to expand the theoretical provisions concerning the ecosystems of industrial enterprises by including the concept of sustainable development among them. The methods of analysis, generalization and systematization of foreign and Russian publications allowed us to substantiate the prerequisites and features of the formation of ecosystems of industrial enterprises. It is noted that the requirements of the latest eco- and bio-standards, “green” consumer trends and information technology security lead to the need for the formation of industrial ecosystems. Their typology includes such varieties as intra- and inter-company, ecosystems by industry specialization and target priorities (digital ecosystems, startup ecosystems, industry 4.0 ecosystems). The novelty of the research consists in the development of an ecosystem approach due to the socio-ecological and economic dimension, linked to the sustainable, balanced and safe development of industry. The practical significance lies in the possibility of increasing the sustainability and productivity of industrial enterprises by developing a methodology for assessing ecosystems based on an extended ecosystem approach.
