Tourism development in the Murmansk region: economic effect and the role of state support

The purpose of the presented article was to study the measures to support the tourism industry undertaken by the government of the Murmansk region, their relevance, and their impact on work efficiency. It is determined that the tourism industry of Russia as a whole and the Murmansk region, in particular, are an integral part of the national economy, the development of which largely determines the achievement of goals for preserving the identity of the multinational people of the Russian Federation, training and upbringing of a socially responsible person striving for spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical perfection, defined by the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation Federation. The article examines the place of the region's tourism industry in Russia. The importance of certain support measures is determined by the impact on the renewal of funds in the tourism industry, the creation of new clusters, an increase in tourist flow, attracting additional sources of financing, interested investors and private business, creating new jobs, increasing public accessibility to places of mass tourism. The purpose of the study was to study the regulatory and legislative framework for providing state support to the tourism industry in the Murmansk region, the current state of the industry in the region, identify the positive aspects of the support measures provided, analyze the effectiveness of invested state support funds, calculate additional budget revenues of the Murmansk region, subject to an increase in support funds. To achieve the goal set in the research process, general scientific methods were used - observation, analysis, synthesis and comparison. As part of the study, the impact of state support measures for tourism in the Murmansk region on the attractiveness of the region, an increase in tourist flow, the renovation of industry facilities, their sufficiency in achieving goals to meet the needs of Russian citizens was studied, proposals were made on areas of state policy with additional recommendations. The research materials can be used to activate tourism activities in the region, effectively reorganize the service sector in the Murmansk region, and assess the prospects for the development of the European North of Russia.
