The features of professional competence of young workers and specialists are considered. The approaches to the defi nition of the concept of "systemic thinking" as one of the key competencies of the future are analyzed. The substantiation of the importance of universal competencies, including systemic thinking, for successful participation in the WorldSkills Championship is given.
