The study deals with the valeological ideas engendering in the East, in particular in Azerbaijan, in the Middle Ages. The ideas of the Arab-Persian medicine contributed to the development of valeological science. The first major achievements in healthcare sector during the period under review related to the Muslim Renaissance that took place 600 years prior to the European Renaissance. This period is characterized by Guide to Study Medicine written by Abu Bakr Rabe and Book of Knowledge of Mayseri by Mayseri Hakim. The study highlighted that treatment and disease prevention were based on the person’s age. For instance, Abu Bakr Rabe cared about medicine prescription and preferred to change eating habits, if possible, rather than to use drugs to heal the children. Thus, he laid the foundations for modern nutrition science. Ibn Sina believed that proper lifestyle and abandonment of things that were detrimental to health were essential for good health. The scientist described the biological aging process which was later confirmed by the modern gerontological and valeological research. Nasreddin Tusi elaborated on the problems of the human soul which was regarded as the psyche, intelligence, consciousness, thinking and speech. This scientist made a great contribution to the development of education and psychology.
