Development of the Russian Federation’s foreign trade activities in the context of achieving technological leadership

Achieving technological sovereignty is one of the main trends in Russia’s economic development and conditions for achieving the national goals set by the President. At the same time, exports continue to play a significant role in the economic development of our country and increasing its volume is also one of the key tasks of the domestic economy. This dualism of the country’s strategic development goals has become the subject of research in this paper, which presents the results of an analysis that determines the place and role of foreign trade in the current paradigm of socio-economic plans strategic development of the Russian Federation. To solve this problem, a retrospective analysis of the state of Russian foreign trade was carried out and key factors for its further development were identified, taking into account the prospects for the development of domestic industry. The study shows that technological leadership, achieved, among other things, through the implementation of national projects to ensure technological leadership, can become the basis for the formation of competitive high-tech exports. This will not only reduce dependence on fluctuations in global energy prices, but also strengthen Russia’s position in global markets.
