Development of foreign trade relations of federal districts of Russia in modern economic conditions

The relevance of the chosen topic of the article is due to the fact that Russia’s foreign economic policy has recently faced big problems. The volume of exports and imports in 2023 grew at an insufficient pace. Under these conditions, certain regions of Russia use various methods and their own relations with foreign partners to develop foreign trade. The analysis of Customs statistics data and specialized Internet sources allowed us to draw conclusions about the main trends in the development of foreign trade in the regions of Russia in the modern period. The analysis data for Moscow and the Moscow region, which are the leaders in terms of exports and imports among the regions of Russia, are of interest. The article revealed promising areas for improving the efficiency of foreign trade in the regions, such as: blocking assets of other countries; the formation of its own settlement system, which replaced the currently unavailable SWIFT; the development of foreign economic relations with countries such as China, India, Iran, Turkey, Japan.
