Application of known ways of treatment of alcoholism, based on formation of negative conscious reflex with use of teturam, metronidazol, extracts of some herbal preparations (with poisonous properties, causing toxic reaction) etc. can cause occurrence of hard vegetative disorders and complex of hard sensations what is very badly is tolerated by patients. In addition, field of application of known ways is limited due to presence of broad range of somatic contraindications to their application. With the aim of rehabilitation of alcoholic patients with pharmacotherapy we used original anticonvulsant Galodif against the background of traditional medication as well as with presence of various degree of severity of affective disorders in post-withdrawal period. Results of study of clinical efficacy of Galodif in alcoholic patients with comorbid organic brain impairment revealed in addition to anticonvulsive one normothymoleptic, analgesic and vegetostabilizing effects of its therapeutic action. Among affective disturbances the greatest affinity to Galodif are possessed by dysphoric disorders. In structure of alcohol withdrawal syndrome the most severe sensitivity to Galodif os possessed by cerebral (cefalgia, diencephalic paroxysms), cardiovascular (cardialgia) and miofascial (local muscle-tonic hyperkineses of type krampi) symptomocomplexes. In patients with complicated forms of alcoholism application of Galodif is effective also in phase of remission in spontaneously occurring symptomcomplex of neurovegetative manifestations of primary pathological craving for ethanol, so called «dry withdrawal», for stopping dysphoric disorders. This allows recommending use of Galodif in not only in-patient but also in outpatient conditions as a antirelapse and prophylactic agent.
