Implementation of the biological potential of various corn hybrids of Russian and foreign selection

We studied the growth, development and productivity of 27 sorts and hybrids of maize of domestic and foreign origin. The field experiment was carried out in 2017. The test hybrids differ in timing of the developmental phases, field germination, formation of a leaf surface, yield of green mass, including cobs, the amount of the dry matter per hectare. Three groups of sorts were identified according of the yield of green mass: 1 - from 72.7 to 88.4 t / ha, 2 - from 53.6 to 67.7 t / ha, 3 - from 26.7 to 50.1 t / ha. We identified sorts and hybrids with the maximum wet and dry phytomass per hectare: 88.4 and 22.6 t / ha (LG 30189, Limograin RUS, France), and 75.8 and 23.6 t / ha (Angela, "Woodstock", Hungary)., They are both the earliest in the first group of the Upper Volga Region, forming 12 leaves per plant.
