Continuing studying the question of existential culture and models of human activity, the authors refer to the material of fairy tales of different nations for the purpose of disclosure of the "animus " concept as manifestation of a machismo. Heroes of fairy tales acting in certain circumstances carry out a choice based on the understanding of the world and themselves, relying on the value orientations serving as a regulator of person''s behavior and relationship of people. To realize himself as an existential hero, a person has to pass through difficulties: through a set of rituals which help to resolve a complex metaphysical challenge, by resolution of which a person finds a new himself who has overcome fear and difficulties.
