The real sector of the economy: ensuring regional competitiveness in the domestic market of medical services (on the example of the Komi Republic)

The article considers theoretical and methodological approaches to defining the essence of the concept of “real sector of the economy”. It has been revealed that recently deep transformations have taken place in the structure of the real sector of the economy, the ratio in it between the branches of material production and the sphere of intangible services has changed. It has been determined that industries oriented to the domestic market are unprofitable due to their low competitiveness. The market of medical services, the issues of its social efficiency and competitiveness in the Komi Republic in dynamics from 2015 to 2020 are analyzed. It was found that the inhabitants of the region as a whole are “rather dissatisfied” with medical services. The target indicator of population satisfaction with the quality of medical services, at least 44 percent, has not been achieved.
