The review covers a monobiobibliographic publication (biobibliographic guide) dedicated to the scientific legacy and events of the creative life of the historian V. V. Zapary, as well as his administrative work and activities in academic advising postgraduate students. This is the first reference publication that presents the milestones of the academic career of the famous Russian and Ural historian and characterizes the main areas of his scientific, administrative, and teaching activities for more than 45 years. It describes his participation in academic and other professional communities and provides interesting information on the forms of advanced training; participation in grants; academic advising, opponency and review of doctoral and master’s theses; reviewing monographs, documentary collections, collected papers, etc. The scientist’s creative legacy is systematized according to the types of academic papers arranged chronologically. A careful analysis of the bibliography of academic and methodological works, as well as the list of courses and disciplines taught at various universities in Yekaterinburg reveals the range of the scientist’s cognitive interests. A review of congratulatory texts allows assessing the breadth of his professional connections extending far beyond the typical circle of traditional interactions among teams of historians.
