Review of the monograph V. N. Kuznetsova “atomic closed administrative-territorial entities of the Urals: history and modernity. Part 1. The Soviet period”

The review analyzes the contents of the monograph, devoted to the history and development of nuclear closed administrative-territorial entities of the Urals in the context of the implementation of the domestic nuclear project. Noted professional author’s use of a significant array of diverse sources, published scientific literature on the subject. It is emphasized that the book has a clear, consistent structure that allows you to disclose virtually all major directions of activity on creation of nuclear facilities and closed cities in the Urals region. Commendable were the second and third chapters of the monograph, which illuminated the process of formation of collectives of builders and early settlers of the atomic scientists, the peculiarities of functioning of authorities, ensuring the secrecy and the development of infrastructures.
