Speech usage of a modern city

The article deals with the methodical aspects of the theoretical problem of modern urban speech which are discussed in several study guides and special courses made by the author. The localism is regarded in theoretical and practical aspects; the key problems of sociology of language are determined: language norm, linguistic situation, language policy, communicative behavior, etc. The linguistic situation in Perm and the Perm Krai is described; the lexicon of urban sociolects is considered, the method of their investigation is presented; sociolinguistic data, which are included in the vocabulary of urban speech, is used. An attempt to research a methodical aspect of the theoretical problem of territorial variation of the Russian literary language in its oral form is undertaken. The data is presented by various linguistic researches, primarily of Perm linguists.
