Rare lichen species in the territory of the Elbrus National Park of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic

There are two specially protected natural territories within the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic – Elbrus National Park and the Kabardino-Balkarian High Mountain State Reserve. The activities of the National Park are aimed at maintaining ecological balance and developing sustainable tourism. Environmental monitoring programs are being implemented, scientific research and environmental education activities are being conducted. Special attention is paid to preventing the negative impact of anthropogenic factors, such as uncontrolled recreation and poaching, on vulnerable ecosystems of the highlands.
