Tree native species new to the Ryazan region ( Campanula × spryginii , Juncus gerardii, Wolffia arrhiza ), 21 species new to the flora of the city ( Alchemilla propinqua , Alisma lanceolatum , Cerastium arvense , Epilobium smyrneum , Euphrasia stricta , Glyceria nemoralis , Gnaphalium rossicum , Juncus atratus , Jurinea cyanoides , Myosotis sylvatica, Potamogeton pusillus , Ranunculus trichophyllus , Scorzonera humilis , Scrophularia umbrosa , Serratula coronata , Thymus marschallianus , Trapa natans , Trifolium aureum , Utricularia × neglecta , Viola × neglecta , Valeriana wolgensis ) and six species included in the third edition of the regional Red Book are detected within the municipality of Ryazan. Also eleven species that were excluded from the Red Book of the Ryazan region are reported to be found. Their locations indicate well-preserved natural communities of the flora of the city. The preservation of slightly disturbed natural communities being at different stages of restoration succession in the regional zones of Ryazan ensured maintenance of specific conditions suitable for the growth of stenotopic plants, confined to various valley habitats, groundwater outlets, fragments of broad-leaved and coniferous forests, their edges and southern slopes of ravines with meadow vegetation and elements of steppe formation, oxbow lakes and old quarries.
