The evolution of the control mechanism of the European Convention on Human Rights is analyzed in the article. Special priority is given to changes in the structure and activities of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) after the entry into force of Protocol No. 14, the proposals of the Group of Wise men for subsequent reforming the ECHR and the outcome of the Interlaken conference. The article contains comments on measures aimed at improving the ECHR efficiency
