The reformation of Chuvash consumer's cooperatives, held in mid-1930s is analyzed in the article. Positive and negative aspects of the changes in the organizational structure of the Chuvash consumer's co-operatives are revealed. The author concludes that the reorganization of the organizational system of the consumer's cooperatives was caused by socio-economic and socio-political processes of 1930s.
