Regional policy as a modern mechanism for public administration (by the example of the North Caucasian federal district)

The article considers with the North Caucasus region, which occupies a special place in the strategy of regional development of the Russian Federation. It is shown that the implementation of the existing potential and the development of a successful and competitive economy in the region requires a clear strategy, a consistent policy and public support. The problems associated with high unemployment and a low standard of living, and therefore the activation of ethno-political processes localized in the North Caucasus region, identified the main targets of socio-economic development of the North Caucasus republics.
