The article describes the complex approach to the problem of the verbal text structure in the documents dated to the XVIII and XIX centuries and included into the Volgograd Regional State Archive's "Mikhailovskiy Stanichny Ataman" fund. Verbal text structure is represented by the following elements: genre and subject correspondence, composition, functioning of split-level units, stylistic means, peculiarities of textual categories realization, etc.
