Regional features of the global gas market during the period of geopolitical instability

The article examines the regional features of the global gas market during the period of geopolitical instability. Special attention is paid to the role of the Russian Federation in the formation and participation in the gas alliance (union), which accounts for more than a quarter of the world's gas reserves. The regional gas markets are radically different from each other, the ties with the oil market are too diverse, and the relationships between the supplier countries are too complex for all these issues to be solved identically in a single supplier organization operating under strict rules. It is noted that the specifics of the growing natural gas markets are such that there is no place for strict quotas - the main method used by OPEC in the oil market. It is advisable to exclude the term "gas OPEC" from serious professional discussions, as it is counterproductive and unnecessarily politicizing the discussion of problems, prospects and forms of strengthening cooperation between gas.
