Regional component in the educational system of modern Russia: problems and significance

In this article the author describes the situation in the Russian educational system at the turn of ХХ-ХХI centuries. Activation of national identity caused the appearance of regional components with clear-cut ethnoconfessional and ethnoregional contents in the courses of general education. In several cases the crudity of the contents of such courses which were the instruments of socialization was the reason of forming of problems in the process of students national identity definition.
