The period from the conquest of South Siberia by Mongolians and before its' integration into the Russian Empire is a key stage in the development of material culture of local people. Archaeological data is the main source for this period. Based on this information, it was defined that horse-breeding has been the basis of life for these people. The horse equipment reveals the main characteristics and achievements of material culture, its' traditions and innovations. Studying the composition of the horse equipment allows determining the borrowings made and, based on that, allows discussing the foreign relations of this people, first of all in terms of Mongolian influence, that brought a certain standardization and simplification to the shape of horse equipment. Then in Postmongolian and Russian periods, seeing the raise of material culture together with the optimization of the complex details of the equipment, once again there was seen an interest in decorating. The reconstruction of the shape of the horse equipment, based on the examination of the group of archaeological findings and comparing it with the ethnographic analogies, led to these conclusions.
