The religious aspect in the army of Russia of the XVII - the early XIX centuries

The paper is examined the importance of the religious factor in the army of Russia of the XVII - the early XIX centuries. The value of the military clergy in the development of the army morale and its achieving victory has been determined. Special aspects of spiritual support of military chaplains to the faithful soldiers have been discovered. The author concludes that during that period the military chaplaincy was becoming a unique institution, which was being created at the junction of two different state structures of the time \ as the Church and the army, included in the general system of public administration. Thus, Orthodoxy being the core value of the Russian people, it was forming by a willingness to perform a feat, strengthening the fighting spirit in field. A study of the religious aspect in the army of Russia of the XVII - the early XIX centuries approves that it was being the spiritual basis of military service, determining moral norms of behavior of the Russian soldiers in the period under review.
