The condition of blood circulation and bone formation during the treatment of trans- and intertrochanteric fractures were judged by the amount of labeled technephor accumulation, mineral density in bone fragments, concentration of osteocalcin and osteotropic hormones (parathyrin, calcitonin) and of somatotropin as well. The peak accumulation of labeled technephor in fracture site was observed on day 28, after that it decreased. The reduction of technephor accumulation, that of osteocalcin concentration was considered as a measure of union achievement, that was confirmed by the results of direct measurement of mineral density. Osteotropic hormones play a significant role in bone formation regulation.
