The article considers the tragic pages of the Soviet past of Buryatia. Based on archival materials and published works, the features of the fabrication of the Pan-Mongolian case during the political repressions of 1937-1938 were analyzed. At that time, any Soviet citizen, regardless of position and merit, could be arrested. There was no question of any evidence considering a person is guilty. The main thing in such cases was to obtain a personal confession from the accused, because it was declared.the queen of evidence.. Later it was found that no anti-Soviet Pan-Mongol organization existed on the territory of the BMASR, and the casesagainst its participants were fabricated by former NKVD and BMSSR officials.
