The representation of the concept «silence» in German literary text

The article considers the main approaches to the study of the problem of the concept. It characterizes the structure of the concept «silence» in the German language on the basis of lexicographical data. Taking into account the fact that the semantics of man's inner world is actualized first of all in the concepts that reflect the specific character of the total national consciousness, on the one hand, the national mental peculiarities of the semantics of language units, on the other hand, the author makes an attempt to analyze the lexical design of the concept «silence» in German literary text.
