Resources for the development of ethnic tourism in the territory of the arctic part of Russia

The article examines the potential opportunities for the development of tourism in the Arctic, identifies the characteristic features for the development of tourism in the Arctic zone and the environmental risks of the development of tourist infrastructure. In modern legal and historical literature, the designation of all the peoples of the North as "indigenous small peoples of the North" is accepted. This designation is used in the paper to characterize the current state of the autochthonous Arctic peoples. The Chukchi and Eskimos - the indigenous inhabitants of Chukotka - have been adapting their way of life to the harsh conditions of the North for centuries. Their traditional occupations were reindeer husbandry in the tundra and sea hunting on the coast. Today, these are two distinctive cultures, in many ways similar and at the same time very different. A resident of a modern city, once here, turns out to be beyond everything familiar and well-known. That is why Arctic tourism can be fully classified as extreme and ethnotourism. In addition, Arctic tourism has the features of an expedition.
