Retrospective development of prosecutorial supervision over the procedural activities of the bodies of inquiry and preliminary investigation

This article is devoted to the retrospective development of the Institute of supervision of the Prosecutor for the initiation and investigation of criminal cases. The author divides the main trends in the development of Prosecutor's supervision of pre-trial proceedings into pre-Soviet, Soviet and post-Soviet periods. Within the framework of this periodization, the history of the Prosecutor's supervision over the initiation and investigation of criminal cases is studied.
