Jealousy as a motive for crime

Introduction: the article discusses the jealousy as a motive for criminal acts; the correlation of jealousy with other motives, such as revenge and hatred. Materials and Methods: methodological basis for the study were comparative legal and logical research methods, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, logical, systemic, structural-functional, linguistical and technical juridical methods. Results: the authors analyzed theoretical and practical aspects of motivational sphere of human activity. The authors considered the motive for criminal acts, its correlation with other motives, figured out the correlation of the motive with emotional state of mind, defined the need of further scientific studies as the motive of committing crimes. Discussion and Conclusions: the necessity of an integrated approach in the study of the motivational sphere of a person from the perspective of criminal law and criminology is substantiated.
