Revolution of 1917 and the civil war in the Perm province periodicals: from sources to the information system

The article analyzes the Perm newspaper periodicals as a source on the history of the revolution of 1917 and the Civil War. The authors describe the formal structure and carry out content analysis of Perm province periodicals, identify general and specific types of publications and thematic headings, which became the basis for creation of the information system. The paper describes the model of the information system, its capabilities and potential for studying the Perm province periodicals and determining its information potential. The paper concludes that the study of the Perm province periodicals is an important source for understanding events of the revolution of 1917 and the Civil war in Russia both in the all-Russian and in the regional aspect. The Perm province periodicals provide an opportunity to consider the events from the point of view of various political forces and different parties.
