The influence and effectiveness of different soil processing techniques and use of chemicals on fertility elements, agrophytocoenosis conditions, productivity and quality of the common millet variety Omskoe-16 has been studied in the southern forest-steppe of the Omsk Region on typical, average chernozem with a humus content up to six percent. Research has been carried out in a two-factor field experiment on millet crops as the second culture after fallowness. The experiment has been replicated four times, the placement of working plots has been serial. The effects of the cultivation techniques on the agrophysical properties of the top layer of soil, water consumption and the contamination of the agrophytocoenoses of millet crops have been identified. It has been established that without chemicalization a higher crop yield can be obtained on tillage with an increase of other options by 0.15-0.44 t/ha (7-23%). In case of autumn soil processing using a wide-coverage harrow-hoe “BMSh-15” and in the opposite case the crop yield decreases by 0...
