A retrospective analysis of 30 case histories of patients with benign thyroid tumors is carried out. Histological examination of surgical material in patients diagnosed with follicular neoplasia reveals a malignant tumor in 6.7% of cases. If the patient has a follicular tumor, the doctor opts for organ-preserving operations, i.e. hemithyroidectomy with isthmus resection and subtotal resection. In case of carcinoma, thyroidectomy is necessary, and in the presence of signs of its spread - thyroidectomy with lymphadenectomy.
