The research was carried out in the laboratory for the selection of leguminous crops of the Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center in the zone of the southern forest-steppe of Western Siberia in arid conditions in 2020-2022. The purpose of the research is to test pea varieties with a barbate leaf type of foreign selection in local conditions to identify the potential of their seed productivity and resistance to lodging in comparison with Omsk varieties. The object of research is the varieties of garden peas: Stabil (Austria), Velvet (Austria), Gothic (Austria), Angela (Germany/Austria), Salamanca (Germany); Triumph of Siberia and standard Omsk 9 (Omsk ASC, Omsk, Russia). The experiments were carried out according to the method of competitive variety testing on plots of 10 m2 in 4-fold repetition. Sowing was carried out on May 17-18 in an ordinary way with a SSFC-7 seeder with a seeding rate of 1.2 million germinating seeds per hectare. Harvesting was done directly in the phase of full ripeness. It has been established that the most drought-resistant is the Velvet variety. Only this variety significantly exceeded Omsk 9 (+ 0.74 t/ha) on average for 2020-2022 with a seed yield of 4.28 t/ha. The varieties Stabil (+ 0.48 t/ha) and Salamanca (+ 0.46 t/ha) also showed a high yield increase in combination with resistance to lodging. The new variety of the Omsk selection Triumph of Siberia was the earliest in the experiment, in terms of yield it was at the level of the long-stemmed variety Omsk 9, but it was distinguished by even maturation in 69 days (2 days faster than the standard) with resistance to lodging of 4 points, which makes it possible to carry out single-phase harvesting. The Velvet variety is stable and changes the yield level in full accordance with changes in external conditions. The most sensitive to the improvement of growing conditions are Gothic variety (Austria) and Salamanca variety (Germany).
