The paper presents results of comprehensive experimental studies into high-temperature adhesive compositions and foaming paste on bismaleimide base, and characterizes their properties from the standpoint of the manufacturing process (thixotropy, foaming coefficient, volatile content, degree of cure, spreadability and fluidity) and mechanical strength (ultimate strength for shear, uniform tear and compression). The effect of accelerated environmental tests and irradiation on mechanical properties was studied and the level of off gassing in vacuum was determined for the adhesive compositions and the foaming paste.
